Well, great branding – and great marketing overall – works the same way. You’ve got to grab people’s attention with the ONE THING that’ll really matter to them. The ONE THING that’ll get them to love you. The ONE THING that’ll get them to act. THAT’S “the hook.”

That’s why (almost)* everything we do starts with strategy… and the first step of strategy is research.

Research is what helps us learn everything we need to know about you, your customers, your competitors and the marketplace overall. When we do the research, we find the hook, and then we develop a strategy that rocks the house.

Our Step-by-Step Approach to Marketing

Step 1Find the Hook
(AKA Discovery & Research)

We ask a ton of questions and look at everything that will help us understand who you are, what you do, what your customers want and what goals you’re trying to achieve. This includes auditing your brand, website, social media and existing marketing materials (depending on what we’re doing for you). Sometimes this also includes speaking with your customers.

Step 2 – Make a Plan
(AKA Strategic Planning)

Once we’ve done our homework, we report our findings and make strategic recommendations. We work with you to set priorities, a timeline, and budget for implementation. This is also when we determine KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), so everyone knows whether or not we’ve hit our mark in the end.

Step 3 – Work the Plan
(AKA Production and Implementation)

Yup. It’s exactly what it sounds like. We work the plan. If we’re building a website, the plan may include writing headlines and copy, securing photography, designing graphics and developing your site. If we’re launching a social media campaign, the plan may include writing content, creating graphics, scheduling posts, developing ads, responding to comments and more.

Step 4 – Feel the Beat
(AKA Measurement and Evaluation)

This is crucial. Remember those KPIs I mentioned above? Well, once we’ve done whatever it is you’ve asked of us, we’ll monitor those Key Performance Indicators (website traffic, clicks, email leads, phone calls or whatever), determine together if what we’re doing is working, then adjust if needed. Sometimes we’ll just make a few tweaks, sometimes we’ll shift priorities, sometimes we’ll double down.

*Every once in a while, we get invited to a jam session, and that’s cool. But it’s not our main gig, ya dig?
