Our Core Values

Responsibility

We consider ourselves fiduciaries for our clients.

We appreciate that when a client hires us, they’re taking a big leap of faith. Their trust means everything to us. It’s why we only recommend what’s in each client’s best interests. We don’t offer “cookie cutter” packages or sell services our clients don’t need.

We’re careful with technology and tactics.

We don’t use annoying or creepy marketing tactics that disrespect people or invade their privacy. We think through the ethics of whatever it is we’re doing and use technologies in ways that help people access the information they need to make well informed decisions.

We use AI sparingly, when appropriate, as a tool to aid in our existing processes. We don’t use it to think for us.

Honesty

We’re upfront about our values.

As an agency, and as humans, we aspire to work with nonprofit organizations and mission-driven companies that positively impact people’s lives, the environment, and society at large.

We choose to work with people who share our values and understand that everyone – regardless of age, gender, race, sexual orientation, physical or mental abilities, religion, or country of origin – deserve to be treated equally, with kindness, dignity and respect.

We tell the truth.

If we don’t agree with something, we’ll be honest about it, and we’ll tell you why another idea might work better. Because we care enough to question pre-conceived notions, find the best solutions, and help our clients succeed – even if it means pushing back a little.

Transparency

We’re transparent about our processes and partnerships.

Our clients have direct access to the team members assigned to their projects. Sometimes they’re internal and sometimes they’re trusted partners. Whoever’s working on your stuff, you’ll know them and will be able to talk directly to them.

We’re also transparent about the systems and processes we use. If something goes wrong, you’ll know about it, and we’ll work with you to course-correct as quickly as possible.

If we don’t agree with something, we’ll be honest about it, and we’ll tell you why another idea might work better. Because we care enough to question pre-conceived notions, find the best solutions, and help our clients succeed – even if it means pushing back a little.

Inclusion

We believe diversity and inclusion lead to more productive conversations.

This matters, because to truly reach people in ways that inspire them to act, we need to create authentically welcoming brands that speak to people’s true lived experiences.

You see, when we’re marketing to an “audience” or a “demographic” what we’re really doing is communicating with people, each of whom are experiencing a unique and complex mix of overlapping identities and histories. And while an audience may share some commonalities, we’re mindful of how our work will impact and be received by individuals.

So, we start with a human-centered, inclusive approach, by listening – to our clients and to the people they serve. We never base our work on assumptions or preconceived notions.

We use language that is inclusive, to make sure we’re talking with people, not at or over them. And we curate and create imagery that reflects the diverse populations that make up our clients’ constituencies.

We’re not taking a political stand. This is just what makes sense to us and it’s what makes our work successful.

If this makes sense to you too, we’d love to chat.
