A beautiful website, designed for impact.
Women Helping Women
About the Client
Women Helping Women (WHW) provides crisis intervention, court advocacy, and 24/7 response services to sexual and domestic violence survivors in hospitals, workplaces, and campuses across five counties in Southwestern Ohio. WHW also offers prevention education, including WorkStrongTM for employers and BRAVE Bar Training to help front-of-house restaurant staff identify and prevent sexual violence.
Challenge(s) They Faced
As they entered their 51st year, WHW was rethinking their branding, messaging, and overall communication strategy. They realized they needed to revamp their website to better reflect their mission of innovation and activism in sexual and domestic violence prevention.
While nice looking, their previous website fell short. It was outdated, hard to update, and wasn’t optimized for search engines. This limited the group’s online reach, making it harder for those needing help to find critical services and support.
CGM Solution
Because WHW is so important to the communities they serve, we knew we needed to design a website that truly reflects their energy, innovation, and values. So, we set out to build a modern, accessible, and engaging platform that’s as dynamic and impactful as they are.
Here’s what we did:
- Designed a new website focusing on the people they serve, being selective about the images we used, and using a color palette and design elements that communicate vibrancy, energy, and empowerment.
- Developed a modern, intuitive, and mobile-responsive WordPress website that showcases WHW’s programs and services – and makes vital resources more accessible.
- Created an Annual Report “mini site” that concisely presents data proving their impact within the five-county area they serve.
- Built an “Our Stories” section, featuring latest news, blog posts, podcast episodes, and important statements issued in response to local and national events.
- Programmed a “quick exit” feature so users can exit the site safely without leaving a trace.
- Made an interactive timeline featuring videos, old press clippings, and other information to tell the story of WHW’s 50-year history.
- Improved SEO, so more people can find WHW and learn about what they do.
- Built in accessibility and translation features so users of all abilities and speaking any language can access help.
- Integrated the website with WHW’s social media and email marketing channels for a seamless digital experience.
Outcomes
Women Helping Women has been a leader in gender-based violence response and prevention for over 50 years. Their new website truly reflects their innovation, impact, and legacy making them better able to support survivors, engage with the community, and fulfill their mission well into the future.
“We are experts in our field–but not experts in design nor images nor messaging nor coding. We have always had to piecemeal efforts and by turning this all over to your firm of experts–we were launched into an incredible space of expertise that has only added brand value and access.”
